How many months left until cider season?
You are looking at the business end of my yet-to-be-completed apple grinder. It’s two 3″ PVC pipe couplings, glued end to end, filled top to bottom with epoxy (for weight and stability), capped with two circular pieces of 1/2 inch plywood and bristling with 63 stainless steel deck screws (to avoid any possible rusting). It’s 81 square inches of apple obliterating garage technology. This baby is going to liberate countless bushels of apples from their oppressive spherical, skin-covered existence into buckets full of sloppy wet apple mash. I got the idea from this site last year and then set out to build something similar out of materials I could come by (and with tools I already owned). I’d say I’ve done quite well so far. Next step… the grinding box. More to come. Stay tuned!
